Responding to Requests for Technical Assistance

Faculty and staff of the National TA Center respond to requests for information and technical assistance via phone, e-mail and in-person, including requests for assistance related to child welfare system issues. The TA Center provides states, communities, tribes, and territories with numerous types of assistance on child welfare issues, for example, we:

• Locate pertinent resource materials
• Offer TA Center publications
• Refer to experts in the field
• Provide information about national trends/issues
• Conduct workshops or make presentations
• Facilitate interagency meetings
• Locate promising approaches and practices
• Help to problem solve interagency issues.

Most technical assistance requests can be filled within a few days. For more intensive technical assistance, sites are asked to participate in an individualized TA planning process with TA Center staff or faculty to identify the specific assistance needed, the resources required and available to provide the assistance, and the best strategies for doing so.
