What is Foundation Training?

All early intervention providers for DC ITDO are required to take foundation training.
Foundation Training is part of the DC ITDO Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (DC CSPD). It is a one-day, comprehensive training for service coordinators, therapists, social workers, special educators, teachers and administrators.  It is also the first step in the Early Intervention Provider Credentialing process.  Foundation Training covers these topics:

• Organization and Administration of DC ITDO;
• The application of Family Centered Care in DC;
• Early Intervention Services in Natural Environments;
• How Eligibility is Determined under DC ITDO;
• How Children Transition from Part C to Part B, Preschool, or Other Appropriate Services; and
• The Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) process

When is the training offered and how do I sign up?

Where is the training taking place?

Training takes place at the Georgetown Center for Child and Human Development, 3300 Whitehaven St. NW, Suite 3300.  Free parking is available in the building.  Metered street parking is also available.   A blue Georgetown University shuttle bus runs frequently from the Rosslyn Metro Stop on the Blue and Orange Line.
