The Developmental Evaluation Clinic:
- provides diagnostic services
- serves children between birth and two years of age
- for babies who were born premature or other high risk factors
- Referred by their pediatrician or parents because of developmental concerns
The team consists of:
- a developmental pediatrician
- clinical psychologist
- occupational therapist
- physical therapist
The Georgetown team uses informal observations and standardized assessment tools to assess the following :
- neurological functioning (Infant Motor Screen)
- cognitive/language abilities (Bayley Scales-Mental Scale)
- motor functioning (Bayley Scales-Motor Scale)
- Feedback and community resources are provided for the families
- Home suggestions are discussed
