Maryland Family Access Initiative

The Maryland Family Access Initiative is a partnership between the Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development and the Parents' Place of Maryland. The project is designed to increase families' access to comprehensive services from managed care organizations which meet all needs of their children/youth with special health care needs (SHCN) and to ensure their enrollment in the plan best suited to their individual needs.

Additional partners in the project are the Maryland Office for Genetics and Children with Special Health Care Needs, the state Medicaid agency and the Maryland chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

The Maryland Family Access Initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Heath Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau Division of Services for Children with Special Health Care Needs.
