Georgetown University Certificate Program in Leadership in Systems of Care
(Currently in development for summer, 2005)

Georgetown University's Center for Child and Human Development, which is the umbrella organization for the National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health, is developing a Leadership in Systems of Care Certificate Program. This certificate program is being designed for individuals interested in promoting system transformation within their own states or communities, across various child-serving agencies and organizations.

Based on defined competencies for each module, the certificate program will provide skill-based continuing education in the essential components of implementing and sustaining comprehensive, community-based systems of care for children with or at risk of complex needs and their families. Completion of this certificate program during an intensive week's experience at Georgetown University will increase the cadre of skilled leaders engaged in system building work and will facilitate a greater understanding of the system change processes within states, communities, community agencies and organizations. Participants will learn systems of care philosophy and transformation goals, community implementation examples, organizational development, change theory, and leadership and management strategies. It is anticipated that this certificate program will be started in summer 2005.
