Clinical and Community ServicesInternational Adoption Health Resource Center: Brief Biography of Nina Scribanu, M.D. In 1972, Dr. Nina Scribanu joined the Department of Pediatrics faculty of Georgetown University Medical Center and developed the department?s Division of Genetics. As Associate Professor of Pediatrics and OB/GYN, Dr. Scribanu teaches medical students, residents and allied health professionals; sits on numerous Georgetown committees; and has been an active member of the University Senate since 1986. Beginning in 1989, Dr. Scribanu became active in promoting professional exchanges and technical assistance to medical schools, hospitals, and orphanages in Romania, Russia and other former Eastern block countries through grants from the United States Agency for International Development, and World Vision; The Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation; and other non-governmental organizations. Among the conferences where she has presented are:

Dr. Scribanu is Director of the interdisciplinary leadership training program (MCH-LEND) program at the Center, and is on the Advisory Board of the Human Genome Project at Georgetown funded by the National Institutes of Health Genome Project.
