Welcome from the Director

Welcome to the Center for Child and Human Development. We are a community of dedicated professionals who embody the strong social justice values of Georgetown University as we partner to create a more inclusive and stronger society. Our core mission is to improve the quality of life for all children, youth, adults, and their families. Our particular focus is children with special health care needs and behavioral challenges as well as individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities. Importantly, as we address equity in our mission, we incorporate a special lens on gender issues and cultural and linguistic competence.

All of us at the Center strive to advance collective solutions to the challenging societal problems of our time as we create a bridge between the campus and the community, and we share our deep expertise with our many partners—families, programs, researchers, systems, and policy makers.

I am proud to introduce you to our faculty, staff and programs. Please join us in our goal to assure a more equitable and humane society.
